Harvest to Cool

Every pallet on the clock, from the dock to the cooler. Receive to Cool times each pallet from the moment it is received to the moment its cooling starts, counts down to your target, and shows the floor what has to go in next, before product breaches.

Why it matters

The wait before the cooler is where the target is lost.

Shelf life starts shrinking the moment produce is cut, and pre-cooling is what stops it. Most coolers know their cycle times. Few can say how long each pallet sat on the floor before its cycle began.

How it works

One clock per pallet, from receive to the start of cooling

The countdown is worked out once on the server, so every screen, phone and floor TV shows the same number at the same moment.

How the countdown works

On time · RTC counts down from 3:00 Amber · 30 minutes left Red · RTC goes negative

Cooling starts at 1:30 → the pallet moves to Completed, target met.

  1. Receive

Each pallet is timed from its receive time, taken from your WMS feed. Receipts without a real time are flagged and counted, never shown as on time.

  2. Count down

Floor Time counts up from the receive. RTC counts down from your target, 3:00 by default and set per site. It turns amber with 30 minutes left and red, and negative, once the target passes.

  3. Cool and record

The moment cooling starts, from a tube or tunnel sensor or an operator's app entry, the pallet moves to Completed with its final time, recorded against the target in force that day.

What you get

Six views. One clock.

Every view reads the same calculation, so the floor TV, the report and the alert always agree.

Live Countdown

Every pallet received today, longest on the floor first. Active pallets count down; completed ones show their final receive-to-cool time.

On-Floor

What is waiting right now: pallets not yet cooling, with cooling method and floor time, so the crew knows what goes in next.

Completed

Each pallet's receive-to-cool and cycle time, temperatures in and out, met or missed. Filter by date, method and commodity.

Received vs Estimate

What has arrived against what was expected, lot by lot and in cases, so the gaps in the day's supply are visible early.

Summary

The day on one screen: receiving against estimate, pallets by cooling method, cool status and timing, by site.

Lag Time

How long each tube, ice injector and shower sat idle between cycles, to tell a capacity problem from a throughput one.

On the floor

Built for the cooler floor, on the systems you already run

Built for the cooler floor

  • Floor-TV kiosk. Full screen and unattended, refreshing every 30 seconds, with no paging and the status strip always in view.
  • Alerts that reach the right person. Email when a pallet passes its target, a text if cooling still hasn't started, then an escalation contact. Once per breach, only in the hours you cover.
  • Phone and tablet layouts for checking the board while walking the floor.
  • English and Spanish on every screen.

Works with what you already run

  • InteliCool sensor cycles time vacuum tubes and forced-air tunnels automatically.
  • The InteliView mobile app captures cool start, cool end and temperatures for liquid ice and water showers.
  • Your WMS receive feed, filtered to the warehouses this site actually cools.
  • No new sensors. The board is built from data InteliCool sites already collect.

One calculation

Times are worked out on the server, never on the screen, so every device agrees.

Site time

Days and clocks follow the site's time zone, never a phone's or a server's.

Nothing hidden

Pallets without a usable receive time are counted and shown, not left out.

History that holds

Each result keeps the target that applied that day, so a later change rewrites nothing.

Rollout

Rolled out in three phases

Each phase ends at a working go-live, so value reaches the floor first and the record builds from there.

1

See the floor

Live Countdown, On-Floor, the status strip, the floor-TV kiosk and overdue alerts.

2

Keep the record

Completed history, received against estimate, export to Excel and PDF, alert escalation.

3

Improve the day

Summary and Lag Time analytics, and the Spanish interface.

Extending the clock back to the field

Harvest to Cool = Field to Receive + Receive to Cool
Field to Receive is the Digital Load Ticket, in design. Receive to Cool is available now.

Receive to Cool covers the dock-to-cooling part of the time product spends warm. Pallet barcodes are created at cooler receive, almost never in the field, so harvest time, block and crew usually stay on a paper tag.

The Digital Load Ticket replaces that tag with the crew leader's phone. One scan at receive carries the field record onto every pallet, so Harvest to Cool becomes one timeline: field dwell, transit, dock wait and the cooling countdown.

Three taps in the field, one scan at the cooler

  1. Pick the block. Assignments are prefilled; the block is suggested from the phone's GPS.
  2. Harvest and close the load. Times are automatic; the count and any edits are reviewed before the ticket is created.
  3. Share the load ticket. A signed QR on the driver's phone, made offline, with a printed label only where no device can carry it.
  4. Scan once at receive. The load ID goes onto the WMS receipt and every pallet inherits the field record.

Nothing is installed in the field. Optional sensor tags and truck beacons add live product temperature and truck turn time.
